How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Loose-Leaf Tea 🌿
At The Leaf and Cup, we believe brewing tea is more than just a habit—it’s a ritual. Whether you’re starting your morning with a burst of clarity or winding down at night with a calming blend, every cup is a chance to slow down and nourish yourself.
Here’s how to make the perfect cup of loose-leaf tea, the cozy way:
✅ What You’ll Need:
-
A teaspoon of your favorite The Leaf and Cup loose-leaf blend
-
A tea infuser or strainer
-
Fresh, filtered water
-
A kettle or pot
-
A mug you love
🌡️ Step 1: Heat Your Water
Not all teas like the same temperature!
-
Herbal & tisanes: 200–212°F (a full boil)
-
Green teas: 160–180°F (just before boiling)
-
Black teas: 200°F
If you don’t have a thermometer, just boil the water and let it sit 30 seconds for green teas.
🍃 Step 2: Scoop Your Tea
Use about 1 teaspoon per 8 oz cup. For stronger tea, add more leaves—not more time.
⏳ Step 3: Steep with Intention
Place the tea in your infuser and pour the hot water over it.
-
Herbal: 5–7 minutes
-
Green: 2–3 minutes
-
Black: 3–5 minutes
Cover your mug while it steeps to lock in the goodness.
🌼 Step 4: Sip, Breathe, Enjoy
Remove your infuser and take a moment. Inhale the aroma. Let the warmth center you. Every cup from The Leaf and Cup is crafted to bring calm, comfort, and clarity.
