Unlike most compounds people associate with tea, L-theanine isn't about energy — it's studied primarily for its potential role in relaxation without drowsiness, which is part of why tea often feels different from a cup of coffee, even when both contain caffeine.
How L-Theanine and Caffeine Work Together
